PROFILE

Amit Roy (Sitar)
 Born in 1959 in Calcutta . His father, Mr.Hiren Roy is a reknowned maker of musical instruments. As a child, he received musical training from his father.
 Later  he took training in sitar from Mr.Santosh Banerjee, from 1978-87. He has further mastered sitar from late Pandit Nikhil Banerjee, a maestro of sitar.

 Currently, he is a disciple of Smt. Anna Poorna devi. He has been praised by media for his ‘Aalaap’ style. His melodies have been eulogized to have draped with moon light and Indian musical concerts in Europe and Asia . Currently, he lives in Nagoya city.   

Hiroshi Nakagawa (Bansuri)
 Born in 1950 in Yamagata prefecture and graduated in Agriculture from Hokkaido University in 1975. From 1981-84, studied musicology and Indian music from the music department of BanarasHindu University, India. He was specialized in bansuri and vocal music during his study. Now he frequently visits Chaurasia, maestro of bansuri music and a Padma Bhushan awardee from government of India. Mr.Nakagawa is now planning and conducting Indian music concerts and is introducing unique style of Indian music in Japan. He is also writing a book on Indian music in Japanese(expected to be published by the end of 1993).

Giridhal Mishra (Tabla)
 He was born in 1964 in Varanasi , and graduated from Lucknow University . As a child, he received musical training from his father, Ganesha Prasad Mishra. He the studied the tabla with Mr.Yamuna Mishra.
 He performs mainly in Lucknow . He has been much praised as a promising young tabla player in India , and his playing in concerts with famous performers is being watched with keen interest.
 Recently he has been giving concerts in foreign countries as a musician delegated by the Indian government.
